My
Story
Your Founder, Kim Stumbo
I'm a busy mom to 3 boys, who happens to have a limb difference. I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with 18 years experience, with most of my career focused in pediatrics. I am an author, speaker and advocate for disability awareness and inclusion.
My Purpose
My love for helping, caring for, and educating others stems from childhood and my own unique situation. My own disability, my limb difference, is one that I have used to help others understand differences for as long as I can recall. I strived hard as a child to prove I was no different than my peers, later learning and accepting that being different isn't a negative thing. Along my journey I have met many other individuals with a wide variety of disabilities throughout my life and career. One thing I always knew and felt, was there was an unspoken understanding between us. Even if our abilities and differences were far different we had a connection. We were warriors, in our daily lives, accomplishing tasks from simple care skills to scaling mountains figuratively and literally. We were warriors educating the general population on our abilities, just by existing. We were warriors in our fights for accessibility and rights.
I have had wonderful opportunities to assist with educating and putting in effort to destigmatize, demystify and allow a safe space for understanding in regards to my own disability. My goal is now to broaden that opportunity and create an organization that will unite humanity and create more inclusive communities.
